Do I need to dry clean before I return?

No, we request you do not wash or dry clean any of our products after wear. Motia will take care of all the dry cleaning to ensure the consistent sanitation of all our products.

What happens when I damage an outfit?

Depending on the severity of the damage as assessed by our team you may be required to pay the full retail value of the outfit.

We recommend purchasing our $10 Rental Insurance which covers you for small, easy fixes such as zip repair or missing sequins. If you choose not to purchase the rental insurance you will be charged for any minor repairs needed upon return of the outfit.

Motia reserves the right to determine whether damages are covered by our rental insurance. If the outfit is lost during your rental period or returned damaged beyond repair you will be charged the full retail value of the outfit.

What is the penalty for late returns?

Late returns are subjected to a $15 charge per item per day. If an item is not returned by the due date the credit card on file will be charged in full.

Unreturned garments after 7 days of the return date will be noted as theft and charged the full original price. It will also result in the individual being denied future rentals.

When is my rental due back?

Rentals are to be returned 3 days (end of day) after your event date. 

For example, outfit booked for Jan 2, will be due by Jan 5 (end of day). A late fee will be charged starting Jan 6.

Can I buy the outfit I have rented?

Yes, you are welcome to purchase the outfit you have rented. Please let our team know as soon as possible. The cost of your rental will be credited towards the cost of the outfit. 

Can I sell my outfits through Motia?

Absolutely! You are welcome to consign your outfits through Motia. Refer to our consign section for more information.

How do I get my outfit?

We offer pick-up from our Toronto studio, as well as delivery across the GTA. 

Can I change or cancel my dress after I've reserved it?

For cancellations you will receive a store credit, which has no expiry and can be used towards any future rental with us. Please note that all rental bookings are non-refundable. You cancel and recieve store credit for your order before it has been shipped out. Once shipped you will be charged the full price and ineligible for store credit refund.

What if I recieve my dress in the mail and it doesn't fit?

We try to ensure we provide exact measurements. If you receive your outfit and it does not fit, please do not alter it, instead get in touch with our team as soon as possible and we will try our best to make arrangements to get you a replacement.

If concerned about the size, we recommend ordering a few days before your event to make sure you have a piece that fits.
